God’s Outlaw is a Wisconsin based rebellious country band performing Johnny Cash
and other old school country music from the top hits to the B-side gems your grandpa
listened to.
The band began in 2004 with solo artist Brian S. Smith (vocals/acoustic guitar)
and Eric “E-Man” Bulgrin (electric guitar) as live experimental performances of
Johnny Cash’s vinyl B-Sides inside dark, smoky local taverns and pubs. In 2010,
God’s Outlaw recruited Paul Scharlau (upright bass). Now with shows throughout the
Midwest, their set list exploded into what it is today; a live country music experience
from the trio that is on fire like a barrel full of gun-powder. One thing is for
sure when they pack up their instruments, you never know where you might find them.
With up to 95 classic outlaw country songs in their holster, God’s Outlaw has played
over 50 shows this year including festivals like Harley-Davidson’s 105th Anniversary
in Milwaukee and Atwood Summerfest in Madison. Their music selections are not part
of the pop monotonous new-school country fad that has been played out in music today.
They are, however, a band of men who together perform classic country songs like
they were meant to be; raw, rowdy and reckless bringing the cowboy, the biker, the
hippie and the college girls all to the same venue.
